Best Albuquerque hotel?

Hi. I have all other accomodations booked for Santa Fe, Taos and Durango but need a recommendation for Albuquerque for one night before late departure the next day back to LA. Something in Old Town perhaps? Dinner ideas? Thanks for any help.

I don't know if it's too late or not, but I live in ABQ and can give you lots of ideas. There are plenty of nice hotels and B&Bs around town. Some that I can recommend are the Hilton, the Wyndham by the airport, the Hyatt downtown, the Sheraton Old Town. For dinner, it just depends on what sort of place you're looking for. Church Street Cafe in Old Town has good Mexican food, Il Vicino has good wood-stove pizzas & salads, Scalo or Antiquity are good fancier restaurants. Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

You have to go to Gardunos for Dinner - the best. We lived there for 8 years, and whenever we go back - we eat there multiple times! If you want something close to the airport - Courtyard is great. Used to work there, and we were rated one of the highest in customer service in the country. The other hotels suggested by the previous poster are good too. I personally recommend the Sheraton.

Have fun!

PS - Have to give my 2 bits about a great B&B in Taos - Hacienda Del Sol. So pretty and the owners are awesome.

There are 3 locations the city. I think the easiest for you would be to take I-40 East to the Louisiana Exit and go North towards Winrock mall - it's on your right hand side behind Macaroni Grill - no reservations accepted.

Oh - eat a sopapilla with honey for me!!!! Have fun!
