Personally, I use beta.itasoftware.com to search for fares.

Frontier from LGA, connecting at DEN, have fares at $239 departing 3/28 and 3/29.

I find JFK-MSP-SLC on Northwest for $251 departing 3/26-30.

Delta and Continental has $278 non-stop fares for most of late March.

All assume about a week's stay.

We flew direct from PHL to SLC in early Feb. for $300. This was price on Delta's website.

Jetblue's fare JFK-SLC is basically the same as CO or DL from EWR. $278 is the lowest I can find.

It only has one flight a day, arriving SLC around midnight, and also comes back as a red-eye. It may work for you or may not.

CO and DL have more frequencies.

THanks, yes tryin to avoid the red eye. I read once to check for fares at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, when airlines release the week’s new deals.

I've found great fares on www.Kayak.com. I always look there first, get the times/itinerary, then open another browser window and check the airline's own site for better deals. Almost always end up booking through Kayak.
