Best 5 views while dining in Maui
Hi, In your opinion, what are the best 5 places for a wonderful view while dining. Not necessarily the most expensive restaurant, just the best views. Thanks
I like Mama's Fish House. :S-
Mama's is good but had an awesome sunset view from Sarento's in Kihei.
I'd Have to go with the Plantation House. Golf, ocean, Molikai
1. Mama's Fish House - Paia
2. Kula Lodge - Haleakala 3. Hula Grill - Whaler's Village on Kaanapali Beach 4. The Bay Club - Kapalua Bay Hotel, amazing sunsets over Molokai 5. Feast at Lele or Pacific O - Lahaina |
Agree with Hula Grill or Leilani's in Whaler's Village. Also with Mama's Fish House. But there are several restaurants in Lahaina right on the water that give excellent sunset views.

Definitely take Bettyk's advice. Specifically, I can vouch for Pacific O's. The seafood was as good as the sunset. Be sure to get an outside table as close to the water as possible.
Don't settle for some of the places that have 'waterfront seating' but are 50 yards from the water and they seat you 3 or 4 tables from the railing and it's 85 degrees in the dining area because there is no breeze and it's covered. Sorry, bad experiences my last trip in Lahaina and Kona. Lesson to be learned, make reservations a few days in advance, request specific seating and don't rely solely on a concierge's recommendations. |
I agree with the Bay Club at Kapalua. Very peaceful, beautiful, amazing sunsets. Very pricey for what you get, but it's Maui, that kind of goes with the territory.
The Mexican food place upstairs near Kihei. Can't recall the name.
And Maui Plantation.
Cheeseburgers in Paradise
Forgot to mention one place we really enjoyed. It was Roy's Bar & Grill at the golf course in Kapalua. Good food and beautiful golf course views!
BettyK - I didn't think there was a Roy's in Kapalua?? The Roys we went to was in the Kahana shopping center just south of Kapalua...and no views.

Best views. My favorite is Spago's in the 4 Seasons Wailea. Get a table along the rail. There are lots of them too. You are on the 2nd floor, so you have a view from an elevated position. Then the Bay Club at Kapalua. Leilana's at Whalers Village. Either upstairs and again against the railing, or downstairs "outside" in the "patio" I guess you could call it. Nick's Fishmarket at the Fairmont Kea Lani. An outside table is a must. Lots of them too. HumuHumu room at the Grand Wailea. You don't want a table in the back. Pacific O's with many great tables. If I had to pick just one, I'd pick Nick's. IMO, best combination of view, service and food.

The Gazebo in Napilii (sp?) Only open for breakfast and lunch and since it's a real gazebo, not too many tables. But food is good and reasonably priced and it is right on the water behind the Napili shores condos on lower Honop... road. Maui Revealed has directions.
Oh wait- forgot breakfast at the Grand Wailea!
Another vote for Hula Grill. Even if you go somewhere else for the view, go to Hula Grill so you can eat with your toes in the warm evening sand. Also, for a really different view and a slice of old Hawaii, we loved Hailemaile General Store restaurant.
Sorry, that should have been JAMESON'S Bar & Grill in Kapalua and not Roy's. I don't know why I always get those two mixed up!
