Bellagio with teens

We're going to Las Vegas at the end of March with our 13 and 17 year old. Have been many times. The kids love it. They want a hotel with a nice pool, and I always like great service with some luxury. I'm looking at the Bellagio and know origianlly it wasn't kid friendly at all, but have heard they've softened on that. Has anybody taken teens there recently? What was it like, especially at the pool?

The pools at the Bellagio are elegant and beauiful, but not teen-awesome, I don't think. The Flamingo has real flamingos and that was cool, but the hotel isn't nearly as elegant. I think the Hard Rock might be a better choice or Caesar's. Don't know for sure, but I recall hearing that they had more fun things at the pool (fountains, etc.). You might want to check those hotels' web sites and take a peek at their pool pics.

Mandalay Bay has a very teen friendly pool(s) and luxury for you. The location is not as ideal as Bellagio, but it could be a nice choice for your family.

I think your teens will find the pools at the Bellagio to be very boring. They're gorgeous but not really not different than any other hotel pool. The Mandalay pools are great. One of them is a giant surf pool. Since you were looking at Bellagio, check out the Four Seasons. Luxurious and you can use the Mandalay pools since it is in the Mandalay complex. You can also send the teens to the Mandalay pools while you go to the quieter Four Seasons pool. Another plus for the Four Seasons is that you never have to walk through a casino for check in or restaurants.

It might still be a little too cool for swimming in Vegas in March. I was there last year in March and the highs were just in the 70s. (Lovely Strip-walking weather!)

Mandalay Bay pools are pretty good, and it is next to Excalibur which is across from New York, New York -- these are two places teens may find entertaining. Consider attending the "Tournament of Kings" at the Excalibur, even teens tend to enjoy it.

We went swimming outdoors during our stay in December, the air was freezing but the heated pool was warm.

we were at the falmingo the beginning of april and the pools were not even open yet.
i think mandaley bay would be a good choice if their pools are open that early.

Agree that you should check to see what pools are open in Vegas that time of year. I know that many, like the Bellagio and Caesars have heated pools that they keep open all year. Here's some good pool info:

I don't think I'd recommend the Hard Rock pool for kids. It's more a place where 20-somethings hang out to ogle each other. The 17-year old might explode from the hormone rush.

When we stayed at the Four Seasons the third week in March a few years ago, the Mandalay pools were filled with people.

Teens would also like TheHotel at Mandalay Bay. The rooms are suites and very cool!
