Just stayed at the Bellagio from Sat-Tuesday. What an incredible resort! The fountain show is amazing. The show "O" is great. Friendly staff and outstanding restaurants. <BR> <BR>In one word GO!

Gotta ditto that. <BR>Stayed in a suite at Bellagio in March and was probably the best room I've ever stayed in, including many rooms 3-4 times the cost in Europe and the best NY, Chicago, SF and Hawaii have to offer. Only drawback is the size....takes a long time to get anywhere, etc., but that's true of virtually all casino resorts in LV.

What's the room rate for "standard" room?

Have reservations for first week of Oct. and was able to get a rate of 129. i called the other day to see if it was still the same and was told 229. Can't wait - would love to stay in a suite - but have reserved a standard room. How are the resturants at the Bellagio?

My rate was 199 for Sat night and 109 for Mon and Tues. Circo and Prime were great. <BR>Emiril's New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand was outstanding!!

I stayed in Jan. of this year. I don't recall the exact room rate, but it was in the low $100s. Check-in was ridiculously slow, and the staff did not seem too apologetic. My sister & brother-in-law also were with me, and I had sent in a request weeeks earlier to be near them, but was placed on a different floor. If we wanted to go to each other's room, we had to go to the lobby, cross over a crowded hallway, & take another set of elevators. <BR> <BR>The rooms are very nice, with luxurious bathrooms. The buffet is one of the bright spots of this property--great selection, EXCELLENT quality, and reasonable prices. <BR> <BR>Is Bellagio on the same par as Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons? No, I don't think so. But, I would imagine that it is in the top 2 or 3 of luxury accommodations in Las Vegas. But I wonder what the recently-opened Ritz-Carlton is like.....? <BR>

Rich: I share your sentiments. I wasn't overly impressed with Bellagio (perhaps I expected too much). In fact, we switched hotels afer one night. In July, Bellagio was a mob scene, with people elbow to elbow in the lobby, at the conservatory, and at the buffet. They do have a a nice garden, and the fact that it exists at all in Las Vegas is maybe its draw, but it does not even begin to compare to other gardens we've seen in the Loire, in England, in Victoria, etc, etc. And with so many people it loses its effect. The pool area is really beautiful, though. (And then there is the issue of how much water is pumped into the desert to create the totally artificial environment that are these mega-resorts in LV. But maybe that's another thread, and one that's bound to be controversial ). <BR>To me the (standard) Bellagio room was rather ordinary and the bathrooms not THAT luxurious. So, I'm also interested in recent experiences at the Four Seasons (which sounds small-scale, personable, great) and at the Ritz Carlton, which I didn't realize was a LV option. <BR> <BR>We, on the other hand, had a very positive Venetian experience, which seems to be a rarity. Now THAT's a luxurious bathroom.We really liked the Grand Lux Cafe, their room service, their Italian fast food in the food court, and didn't have enough time to sample some of their other intriguing restaurants. The standard <BR>Venetian suite is outstanding. Their check-in was abysmal, though, but that seems to be a common LV trait. To me, the Venetian provided far better value for the money, and from what I've read elsewhere, we seem to have been one of the fortunate few not to have any other major complaints :-) Maybe it's just that our timing worked out!

Meant to say the Four Seasons instead of the Ritz-Carlton (although, I understand there is going to be one there eventually!)! <BR> <BR>Yes, I agree that the pool area looked very nice, but since I was there in Jan., we obviously didn't go swimming! <BR> <BR>Yes, check-ins at the major LV hotels does seem to be a problem...especially if the hotel has just opened. <BR> <BR>I'll be sure to consider the Venetian for my next trip....
