Bellagio construction or Venetian?
 

Has anyone been to the Bellagio recently who can comment on the construction there? Bellagio website is running a 169.00 special and am wondering if that might be a room in the middle of the mess. Venetian is running a 172 pkg. including coupon extras. Can anyone recommend a certain part or wing in either hotel which won't seem like the boondocks. This will probably be our one and only time in vegas and hubby and I want to do it right. Thx

The $169 rate at Bellagio is a common rate during winter and has nothing to do with construction.
For a similar rate and one time visit to LV, I'd select Bellagio.
But be sure to visit Venetian to see a great example of a well done over-the-top LV theme hotel.

The major difference between these two rates would be the fact that the rate at the Venetian is for a suite, whereas the Bellagio rooms are plain-sized rooms. As a frequent guest, I would choose the Venetian. Select a suite in the Original tower facing Treasure Island. The new tower is nice but a bit of a hike to get anywhere. All of the rooms are huge (700+ sq ft). Both hotels offer the best of LV and you will be very happy with either, but the Venetian is a better choice, IMHO. Have fun

Was just in LV last week and didn't see any construction for Bellagio,they had it over next door at Ceasars Palace. For the money your best bet is Venetian BUT I would definitely stay at Bellagio,even though the room will be smaller, you deserve first class service every once in awhile. The standard deluxe rooms are very nice and if you don't like it, you can always call the front desk and I guarantee they'll move you to a better view/room. Have a great time!

I'l disagree with the comment above comparing B and V. Venetian rooms in the main building are 650 sq ft, and at B they're 510 sq ft. The average in the US is about 275 sq ft. As such, both are large rooms, and it's very much an error to claim B's rooms are "plain-sized rooms" as stated above.
V's rooms aren't really suites. They're regular rectangular rooms with a small step down from the bed area to the living area. There's no wall partitioning between the two areas, just a low railing. So I don't see these rooms as actual suites (since the definition of suite is multiple 'rooms', and as I see it Venetian uses only one room). Junior suites are pseudo-suites. Probably a better definition IMO.

In regards to Travleis, I stand corrected. Your defintions are more accurate than my descriptions.
