being in a helicoper
I do not enjoy flying very much even on large jets.

Is flying a helicopter the same sensation? Does it often cause airsickness? Is there a lot of turbulence?
|
You will hate it. very unsteady feeling and lots of butterflys.
|
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it then. It's a lot like a mild rollercoaster!

The abose poster are so right -- if you don't like flying in a jet, you'll hate a helicopter. Don't do it, it'll be terrifying for you.
|
As I thought.

Thanks!

Its a great time. I really enjoy it. Its not like sitting in your LaZBoy though.

I flew in one in the Grand Canyon..it was like sitting onyour couch at home...and I`m afraid of heights!....I loved it..it was awesome...

I've been on many helicopters although never as a tourist. The smaller ones are noisy in general but you should get headset/hearing protection OK. The motion is almost entirely up to the pilot, given decent weather. I'm fairly prone to motion sickness (all my life), I still can't read in a moving car for example but didn't have problems with helicopters, usually too busy looking outside.. the takeoffs and landings are neat too ! If there's a good reason, I'd say go for it, I intend to take one on Kauai as soon as I can persuade my wife.

I hate jets because of the sense of power on lift off and the sense of braking on landing. A helicopter avoids both of these. I love flying in my family's helicopter in Italy---just soaring around in Tuscany. If you are nervous while you are in the air in an airplane, it might bother you, but the landing and take offs are completely different and very gentle.
