Wow, you love Uncle Juny's carved opihi shell jewelry too!
I didn't know he had some at a store in Hanalei - I usually find him at crafts shows he does on island through
the year. His work is totally unique and special - my favorite is a yellow plumeria carved out of an opihi shell with the green in the surround. People here know his work when you wear it for sure!

wahine, he will be at whatever celebration you all have in the south on July 4th. I don't know when it was written, but I have an article from Kaua'i Island News that tells about him and how and why he started doing this. btw, I have the yellow plumeria(bought it two years ago from him) that you describe and I wore it yesterday. My very favorite is the first piece I bought from him...an octopus.

to wahine again...here's a great photo of Juny and his wife at The Merrie Monarch Festival. It clearly shows the yellow plumeria pendant.

Oh, and thanks for the tip for the National Parks Pass. We're headed to Yosemite this summer, so he'll get one there. It is a great deal.

That poor little piggie will be plump and ready for the festivities in four years! I see it turning on a spit with a big red apple in its mouth.

The little piggy is a one month old wild boar that was found on the golf course. You know, they are very destructive and good only for plumping up and .............. yep, I see a pig pickin coming on!

Iceeu2 -- that's Uncle Juny alright - and the same pendant that I have - I love it and I also have an anthirium one with red - at the Koloa Plantation Days he usually has a booth - that is when I target getting a new piece from him normally!
That isn't too far off - next month!

Hey wahine, when you see him tell him that Donna and Charlie (Margot's friends) from Georgia said hello. He is nice enough that he will act like he knows who you are talking about!! He and the real icee talk hunting and fishing and bore the crap out of me!! Also, be sure to ask him if the baby boar has gone to the spit yet!!
