Beautiful Inland Lake?
We are looking for nice inland lakes to discover. We live in GR. Love the color of Glen Lakes - looking for similar. Any Help?
Where the heck is GR???????
Greenland, Greece?
In any case you can't find a more beautiful lake than Tahoe, California and Nevada.
I posted this under Michigan since we wanted to stay in the state.GR is known in Mich. as Grand Rapids!
Yeah, who doesn't know GR is Grand Rapids. Sheesh.
I hear Minnesota (don'tcha know) has 10,000 lakes! Not too far from Michigan either.

Crater Lake, Oregon, is beautiful also.
Dave,

I don't think you can find a more beautiful inland lake in Michigan than Walloon Lake. About 5 miles South of Petoskey. Some rentals available. Beautiful, clear water, not too busy and lots of friendly folk!
I'll show my regional bias and vote for the Finger Lakes region of NY state, particularly Cayuga Lake and surrounding points of interest such as Watkins Glen, Ithaca and the wineries.
Try Torch Lake east of Traverse City. Is listed with National Geographic has being one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world. The shades of blues in it are spectacular. It is 18 miles long 21/2 wide and up to 288 feet deep. My favorite!

Hey, guys, how cold is the water in these lakes? I've never been up that far north, so I have no idea! Is it comfortable to swim in? Would you want to spend a whole week's vacation there?
Thanks.

In Oregon from Crater Lake North to about Sisters there are scores of beatuful lakes along the Crest of the Cascades. most very accessable June- October. I am not sure what color Glen Lakes are but these lakes run blue to green and everything in between.

Dave: Clicking on "Michigan" does not put "Michigan" in the title. It just gets lumped in with everyone else's threads. There was nothing in your post that gave us ANY idea where the heck you were talking about.
Tom, let it go- how many people need to be flamed on this before you all figure out that this issue is NOT clearly spelled out for new posters!! Leave it alone, it's no big deal.
