Beating a Dead Horse: Please Help me Choose in Las Vegas
 

Sorry to repeat a question that has been asked before, but . . .<BR><BR>We have rooms booked at both Bally's and Aladdin this upcoming weekend (Th-Sun). Neither are my first choices, but the city is full of conventions. We go often, and have stayed in the past at Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, Caesar's, Mirage, MB, etc. All are sold out or are asking a premium. No choice about these dates as my husband and I are meeting family at the last minute.<BR><BR><BR>When I originally booked at Bally's, I was told I would be in a 'Classic Grand' suite in the renovated tower. When I reconfirmed, I was told this wasn't possible, as the hotel would soon be sold out. So, as reservation stands, it is a 'Classic Grand' suite in the unrenovated section of the hotel, on floors 5 -- 10. Nightly prices each of the 3 nights are $125, $158, $167, with $50 dining and spa credit.<BR><BR><BR>At the same time, I booked a deluxe (basic) room at Aladdin, at the nightly rate of $139/$179/$179. I think the the standard room at Aladdin is about the same size as the Bally's CG suite.<BR><BR><BR>Haven't been to Bally's in 6-7 years, and only twice to Aladdin, where I paid far less for the same room. Are the rooms at Bally's as tired as many people say?<BR><BR><BR>Also, we will be arriving rather late our first night -- not sure if this will help or limit our room selection options. We will also need to valet park our car.<BR><BR><BR>BTW I think the location of both hotels is good, as I will primarily be gambling in the Bellagio poker room. Do not plan on doing much dining or using spa facilities in either place. What is important is a quiet, clean room.<BR><BR>Which way would you go? Thanks very much for your suggestions.

I can't believe how much you are paying for a room in the aladdin. I think I paid $59 when I went and it wasn't that great. for as new as the place was it was surprisingly dirty. and for some reason (puke on day 1, &quot;baby ruth&quot; on day 2) the pools were always closed. the best thing about the aladdin is that it sits on top of commanders palace which is one of the top restaurants in LV.

if you're going to be playing poker, ask for Poker Reservations at the Bellagio and ask them if they can get you the Player Rate reservation for the dates you'll be there. You have to play 4 hours for each day you want the special rate.

Thanks flopmeister, I'll take your suggestion for next time.<BR><BR>joebob, if you think the rate I was charged is high, try calling now -- they're asking $400/night at Aladdin. <BR><BR>BTW, I stayed at Aladdin right after it opened and thought it was awful; returned about 6 months ago for $59/night and had a fantastic stay. The room was clean, quiet and had a great tub. Wasn't happy about paying more this visit, but sometimes you don't have as many choices as you'd like.
