Bear Watching in Alaska?

We have planned our Alaska trip this June (June 7- June 16). Here are the places we are going (thanks to indiancouple): Anchorage (2 nights)-Seward (2 nights) -Matanuska (2 nights)-Talkeetna (1 night) -Denali (2 nights) -Anchorage.

Please suggest where to go Bear watching in this itinerary. Thanks.

Seward is east pf Homer on the Kenai Peninsula. We took a day trip from Homer by float plane to Katmai National Park and saw so many bears, A lot of bears were catching salmon in the waterfalls which we observed from a platform above. This was one of our top travel moments.

Thanks HappyTrvlr....Do you recommend skipping Anchorage day trip (essentially staying in Homer and do bear watching before we go to Seward)?

You may have a problem finding bears in a concentrated location that time of year. I'm not sure when the salmon runs start on the Katmai, but mid-June is way too early in the bear areas I have visited in the southeast. You can still find them out and about then but they may not be in predictable locations. I'd check with the outfitter you plan to use to see if they will be concentrated during the time you want to go.
