bear mountain ny foliage question

Hello, everyone
i am planning a trip to the Bear Mountain area to "leaf peep" and am wondering if there is much color yet? I was hoping to go this weekend, but I am wondering if I should wait a bit longer. I have checked the foliage reports but I am hopping someone who has really seen the trees lately could offer an opinion.

I lived many years in NY and peak seemed to be mid October, so you should be ok. Enjoy - I envy the sights you will see. We get nice colors here in SW Colorado, but NOTHING compares with foliage in NE.

Was there this past Sunday, just beginning to turn, should be better this coming weekend. I think the peak will be in the next 10-15 days, unless the rain over the next few days messes everything up.

Nonetheless, it was a beautiful day for a hike!

So far, the foliage has not been too great for leaf peeping. So, don't have your hopes up too high when you come.

thanks, everyone. I am 2 hours south of Bear Mountain and we have not come near peak yet. I was hoping the distance would make a difference, but perhaps I should try to wait another week.

Hello
This past weekend we came home from New Haven Conn to New Jersey and the leaves in that area just changing so don't think this weekend will be prime leaf peeping but the other advantage is this weekend the weather will be beautiful almost 70 you don't know what the following weekend will bring but it still should be good leaf watching. Enjoy
