Beaches with shaded bike paths?

Are there other beaches anyone would recommend close to Virginia (NC, SC, etc)
that have beautiful shaded bike paths like Hilton Head? Or is Hilton Head just very unique? Thanks,
Linda

Virginia Beach has a hidden treasure, First Landing State Park. Over 19 miles of trails on nearly 3000 acres, the park is just off 64th street hidden behind a residential area twenty blocks north of the resort area. The park is, I believe, about the northernmost climate where you can see Spanish Moss. On the ocean, Chesapeake Bay, and beautiful inland waterways, it's an amazing park.

One hotel, the Wyndham (formerly Ramada Plaza) is nearby, and has a unique oceanfront location without ANY congestion--it's at 57th street, or you can stay in any one of a number of hotels on the boardwalk (hard surface, landscaped, bike-pathed promenade extending 3/5 miles).

The park has a number of nice, modern cabins--see http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/fir.shtml .

Happy biking!

Thanks! Pretty pitiful that I live in Richmond and didn't know this! Have heard of the park, haven't been there.
Any others? Thanks!

We just got back from the northern Outer Banks of NC. I was very impressed with the bike pathes they had all along up through Duck. Most of what I saw was shady. It was along the road but the charm of the area I thought was very nice and they people seemed to really enjoy biking, jogging and roller blading on it
