Beaches of South Walton

I'm searching for affordable, family- friendly, beachfront accomodations in the Beaches of South Walton area. I really don't like large condo complexes. I love Seaside but it's rather expensive. Anybody have a favorite spot they wish to share for a relaxing vacation?

I've been to both Grayton and Seacrest, but both times stayed in a large house, so I can't help much with condo-type lodging in the area. All of the beaches in the area are wonderful so perhaps check some of the others for better accommodations for you. Other than those two, I am usually a Pensacola Beach girl, but sad to say that all of my favorite small condo types were wiped out.

I have stayed in Seagrove, right night to Seaside, many times. It is a little longer than walking distance but less thana minute drive. Much more affordable, though older. Most places have pools and spacious units. Try www.garrettrealty.com --this is who I use. Abbott Properties is worth a look too, if you want something closer to Destin.

One of our favorites is Destin Pointe. There is a condo building but it is only 6 floors, not very large. The rest of the property is single family homes of various sizes. It has 2 pools and is on the beach and because the condo building is small never felt over crowded. We loved Seaside as well, but as you said rather expenisve.
