We're big tennis players and we loved Key Biscayne. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and enjoyed the Drysdale tennis facility and the pools and beaches. There is a public access beach just to the north of the hotel.

Just wondering how the extreme rains recently and which seem to be continuing will affect your trip. From what I read all of Miami and nearby is a beach.

Second Key Biscayne. Great for kids that delight in discovering little creatures in the tide. Low key, quiet atmosphere.

In Key Biscayne is Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park to the south. It has palm trees, white sand and clear water (good for snorkeling). Generally, a very quiet experience. There is a toll for the causeway.
