Beaches in Incline Village
Hi all,
I will be traveling to Incline Village in late June for a weeklong workshop. I was hoping to spend some time on a beach while there, but have read that you need a permit to access the beaches. Are all the beaches closed to the public, and how do you get a permit? I will be staying across from Sierra Nevada College at a small hotel. Thank you for any help! |
There are public beaches at Sand Harbor, and just across the state line in Kings Beach, etc. The beach in Incline itself is only open to owners.
. . . owners/members/permit holders. Not casual visitors.
Sand Harbor is beautiful. If you have a car, drive but know that on weekends, the lots fill up, and you can't park on the road and walk in. Tit may not be as crowded in June or on weekdays. If you don't have a car, there is a shuttle from Incline Village.
Thank you all for the responses. We will check out Sand Harbor and Kings Beach. We are hoping to get by with Uber drivers, assuming they are plentiful there, or cabs?
Also, are there boat cruises? Thank you! |
I don't know about the availability of Uber or cabs, but again, you can't walk in to Sand Harbor.
Agree with the others. Your small hotel may have permitted access. As of last summer, there was no Uber available.
Don't count on uber and there are very few cabs. There is TART (Tahoe Area Regional Transit) w/ buses that will get you most anywhere.

Sf7307, I see what you're saying now. I thought you meant no road parking, so therefore no walking in. People allowed on the beach are restricted to only the full parking lot. Bad for us, good for the locals.
I think Sand Harbor is a much nicer beach than the beaches at Incline.
