Beach vacation in Sept

Hi, I'm looking for a great beach to vacation at in early September for 2 weeks, either in Delaware, Maryland or Virginia (we don't want to drive more than 12 hours from Toronto, Canada). Preferably warmer, calmer waters (as I have 2 year old twins!). I would like to stay at a hotel/house/resort with 2 bedrooms and kitchen facilities, and somewhere that would be good for my boys to play, near the beach or beachfront. I don't need to be in the heart of the action, but somewhere with a nice area for evening strolls would be nice! Any suggestions???

September starts getting cold in some spots, If those are your choices, I'd chose Virginia, probably will have better luck w/warmer weather. otherwise, I'd go a little farther and go to Myrtle Beach...just keep in mind that the time you will be going is hurricane season.

Hurricane season is 6 months out of the year, you can't worry about it or you'll never get to the beach when its warm.

I would rent a condo on the ocean in Brigantine, N.J., which is a quiet town with a beautiful beach. It is right next door to Atlantic City with its boardwalk for action.

The Delaware beaches are wonderful in September, with weather and water still fairly warm. Look at house/condo rentals in Lewes, Rehoboth, or Bethany.
