Beach vacation for family with 1,5,and 7 year old

We are visiting family in FL over Thanksgiving next year. We would like to also add a 4 or 5 day beach vacation. We have 3 kids. I am looking for a beach front condo at a mellow beach that is family friendly. Any suggestions?

Florida has 1,000+ miles of coastline. Have you narrowed your search any?

Yes, you might want to narrow it down. Where in FL are you going to be? You probably don't want to drive a whole day when you could find a similar beach destination within a couple of hours of where you are.

Amelia Island is always my first choice. If you look on here there is a recent debate re: the gulf side v. the atlantic side as well.

See my earlier post today about Anna Maria Island...off the coast of Bradenton. Great for all ages. Lots of beachfront condos. Very mellow. Rent a condo or house on the West side of Gulf Drive (so you're not always crossing a "busy" street) and near the public beach for the best location, I think. There are rental's on the "bay" side, but not beach.

Thanksgiving can be cool in "upper" Florida. I would look at the Florida Keys. It's not a beachy place but look at the Moorings in Islamorada or Cheeca lodge.

We always went to the Gulf coast (Indian Rocks Beach, near Clearwater) when my kids were little. The gulf beaches are very calm and perfect for little kids to enjoy.

If you want to venture out of the state, the Atlantis resort is great for families. Tons of kid friendly things.
