Beach chair rentals in Hawaii or do you have to buy?

Thinking about honeymooning in Maui and either Kauai or the BI....I know that when you stay at a big resort, they usually have beach chairs for their guests to use on their beach. But, what about if you want to travel and sample different beaches on the island, OR what if you are staying in a condo and want to head out to the beach? What do you do about beach chairs and/or umbrellas for the week??? Is there somewhere you can rent them for the week, maybe at a place where you would rent snorkel gear? Or should I stop at a Wal-Mart type place and buy beach chairs for the week? (Obviously would rather rent...) Thanks!

Most condos have that stuff in a closet somewhere...ask ahead of time what will be available to you. I've always had chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc in condos I've rented.
Then, there's always Costco or some other chain to purchase from.
Have fun.

Just about everyone from gas stations to grocery stores will sell beach chairs.

Don't laugh but something I've done before is bought fold up beach chairs here and taken them with me. Rent a car, take your collapsable cooler, beach chairs, and sunblock and you are set!

TAW: Thanks for the info. -- that's what I was hoping for with the condos!
GoTravel: Approx. how much are the beach chairs you're talking about?

For both of you: What kind are they -- meaning, do they recline or are they the type you sit up in? I know this seems silly, but we are BIG beach people, and like to be comfy on the beach!

I'm talking your basic beach chair and not a lounge chair.

the condos I stayed in had what I call 'sand chairs'. they are low to the ground and basically just a seat & back support. But great for taking in the water to sit & read. Hope this helps
