beach at Mandalay Bay

we are going to Vegas in Aug for 4 days and plan to spend one of those at the beach at Mandalay bay - few questions.
1 - we are staying at the Bellagio - are there places to secure camera- money etc while on the lazy river???
2 - is there a charge to use it since we are not guest at that hotel? how much?

3 - is it true that you can "walk in" with a guest from the hotel?

4 - can we bring in out own water??

any other tips would be great - yes we do know it will be hot hot hot

I doubt very much you will gain entry to the Beach at MB. When we were there every person going to the beach had to show a room key. IMHO the Bellagio pool is much more fun. I am sure a Vegas regular will enlighten you soon if there is a way of getting into the MB beach.

Hi again, I thought someone else would answer your other questions. You asked about taking water into the pool area, this is no problem, however, you will not be allowed to take a coolbox with beer into the area as obviously they want you to pay for drinks. You will not be able to pay to access other hotel pools, the high end hotels are quite strict on entry to their pools. You can get into some of the off strip pools ok but the Bellagio pool is much better than most others. You will not miss out too much with regards to MB as I thought it was overrated, it was so busy it wasn't relaxing at all,and the european area has a fee to enter anyway. Not too sure about safekeeping facility for your valuables while in the pools, but maybe better to leave them in your room safe and just take some money for drinks etc. Your camera will be quite safe as you can place it under your towel, clothes etc. I found that other peoples cameras were far superior to mine to I was not worried about it going 'missing'! I have never know anything to be stolen from around the pools where I have stayed. Have a great time.

You will not get into the MB pool unless you have a room key. I use to think it was the greatest pool in Vegas but now I think a pool is a pool.....all the high end places have a nice pool.

We had to show our room key to use the pool at the MB. Also I've never been that worried about someone stealing my stuff at the pool, never happened yet. As for the water they give out free water but I'm sure you can bring your own as long as its in a plastic container (they don't allow glass).
