"<i>Frankly, I do not think that 2-1/2 weeks' notice of cancellation . . . . . . puts a great hardship on a B&B in the low season.</i>"
I guess you still just don't get it. In high season they could probably fill behind you on fairly short notice. In the off season, bookings are fewer and farther between - you cancelled and that means the room has more of a chance to be empty after a cancellation . . . . |
We have no idea how popular this B+B actually is or how hard it really is for them to re-book rooms.

Dukey: of course not - but ckwald has said the same thing on two different threads -- that a cancellation shouldn't be a problem in the "low season". I just don't get his logic.

I posted the name of the place because this was the first time in my experience that such a cancellation fee was charged. I said clearly that when I checked the site again I saw that I had misread it and the cancellation fee regulation was posted there. I said that I thought such a fee was outrageous. Then, after reading a dozen or so of your comments, I posted an "I stand corrected" statement.
So far as I can see, your piling on is not especially helpful to anyone and notably self-indulgent. Get a life, you people! |
