BBQ and Soul Food in New Orleans

Can anyone please recommend good, genuine Southern BBQ and soul food restaurants in New Orleans? Are there any such places in the French Quarter? Thank you.

The Praline Connection, just outside the FQ gets consistently good reviews and also serves up some excellent jazz.

Sorry I posted this under the wrong state. Please forgive me. Thanks for your helpful response, Ken.

Two places that I've never been to but that come highly recommended by all my neighbors are Dooky Chase (for soul food) and Bywater BBQ. Praline Connection does indeed have good soul food. They also do a jazz brunch, but I've never been for that.

None of the places I mentioned are in the Quarter, but Praline Connection is within waking distance - just across Esplande in the Marigny.
