BB King Blues Club Sunday Gospel Brunch
My daughter (18) and I will be in NYC for 4 days over Easter. I have tickets for Cabaret our first night and was looking for something fun to do on Easter. I've read about the Easter parade and we will probably go there for a little while. I was thinking about the BB King Blues Club Sunday Gospel Brunch on Easter. I would be interested in anyone that has been to this and their review of it. I also heard about a brunch on a boat that cruises the river but don't know where that is.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with BB Kings place but Lola's at 30 w 22 has a gospel brunch as does Copelands in Harlem 547 w 145th. I've been to Lola's (although not recently) & it's great fun with pretty decent food.
An alternative I would suggest, the music for Easter Sunday at the church on the northwest corner of 55th & 5th is wonderful (hopefully someone else will remember the name). When you get out you'd be in the midst of the easter Parade. You could then go to Aquavit for brunch on 54th between 5th & 6th. Great food, great setting.
The cruise is World Yacht leaving from pier 81 at 41 st on the Hudson River. The food will be "passable", the price expensive & on Easter Sunday, I imagine a zoo. Take the Circle line or Staten Island Ferry (for free) instead.

have been to this and really enjoyed it ... there was a buffet brunch w/all types of "soul" food - fired chicken, grits, eggs, all kinds of stuff - and then they start the music show - the choir/band was really great - I found the music wonderful & uplifting, spiritual, etc ... I am not a tourist (resident) and I would do it again for a fun special occasion if somebody wanted to (this was about 2 yrs ago I'd guess)
