Bay Area this weekend...

So, what is going on around the Bay this weekend? I would like to do something new and interesting... speak up San Jose, Berkeley, Marin, San Mateo, Cuperinto... I am listening...

What is happening out there?

Kathy May 17th, 2002 09:20 AM

Here's a start...
This weekend is the Bay to Breakers - that 7.5 mile footrace where 100s of 1000s of people run. It takes place on Sunday morning in SF. Many streets will be blocked for it. If you want to run, I think you might still be able to register (check www.sfexaminer.com). If you want to watch, it starts early (8am). Many runners race in costume!

There are also baseball games @ PacBell Park this weekend. The Giants are playing the Florida Marlins on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Hey Sharon...gettin' out of town this weekend? Can't speak for the towns you listed, but I'm going to the Sunnyvale Farmer's Market. Noticed that there is an American Indian Pow-wow going on at DeAnza college, if that interests you. Just checked the SJMN and there's Fine Art in the Park in Los Altos Sat. and Sun or the Santa Cruz Art, Jazz and Wine Festival. Enjoy your weekend!

Betsy,
Hey there! Yeah, I was thinking of getting out and about on Saturday. Was thinking I needed to do something new. Thanks for your suggestions. I LOVE a good farmers market! May just see you there.

Sharon, the Sunnyvale Farmer's Market, on Saturday, is small, only one block on a nicely reconstructed street, Murphy Ave. The Mountain View FM, on Sunday, is larger. Should I wear my Fodor's pin :-)

Kal, congrats on your room at the Sheraton. Wishing you a closet! We'll be at Sonoma State that weekend watching our first-born GRADUATE!
