bay area romantic getaway

looking for a romantic getaway (less than 2 hr drive) from San Francisco for valentine's day. Either 1 or 2 nites. Preferrably close to the water... any suggestions? thx

Bodega Bay Lodge. From there you can walk the beach, take drives along the coast, eat great seafood, get a massage, drive to the Russian River and visit some wineries......

Nice romantic rooms with Bay views and fireplaces.

Half Moon Bay is another option.

Half Moon Bay - Ritz Carlton. Very
romanitc and luxurios ! My husband swept me away there for a special weekend and we loved it. Go for the
concierge level. Great room with drink,
snacks and desserts. Loved it!!

bodega bay sounds like a good option.. anything else north of san francisco that's similar?

thanx!

The Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa is very nice! Also, check out the Sonoma Coast Villa Inn & Spa @ www.scvilla.com It looks very inviting and romantic! ***kim*** :)

both options seem lovely, however somewhat pricey given they require a 2 night stay.... perhaps I might have to find something cheaper or do a vacation rental...

Olema or Point Reyes area.

if you're willing to drive 1 more hour, Mendocino is really nice. Can be a little cold around this time but very scenic, lots of restaurants and things to do.

Check out rentals for Point Reyes National Seashore. Lots of nice places to stay.

Manka's Lodge in Inverness might do very well.

deeman: You might look at the Seacliff
in Gualala-Much nicer than the motel in it's name and not as pricey as Bodega Bay Lodge or Mankas (although those are
very nice places!)

I always enjoy weekends in Occidental and Healdsburg, both in Sonoma County. Neither is near the ocean, though Russian River practically connects the two.

wow the seacliff is pretty amazing.. little bit on the far side though... might look into that a bit seriously as "the price is right"

thank you EVERYONE for your ideas!
