Bastille Day in NYC TODAY
 

Sorry to be posting this last minute, but the annual Bastille Day in New York is today from 12:00 to 6:00. Lots of fun for New York Francophiles and those who are visiting as well. Best food of any street fair in New York bar none.

Sorry I missed it - I tried to tell my bus people to get off and go though.

I just came back from there. No Petrossian blinis this time, but Payard had a stand on every block. Several Breton crepe stands, and good couscous with sausages from a North African restaurant.

The weather was too good, so everything was full-priced until the last half hour or so, but I did eventually get a box of half-priced Payard pastries. Fewer dogs and more kids this year.

Sue, although I'm not we'll try this again with a double stroller (too crowded) we still had a good time. The Champagne-flavored sorbet was worth the effort alone.

AS you know, one of the big celebrations was at the now defunct Florent.

The downtown Les Halles usually has a celebration on John Street tomorrow.
