Basic condo lodging in Kihei
 

Hello! My wife and I are looking for very basic accommodations in Kihei for a likely 2-4 week stay in March 2004. (We need a temporary space while apartment hunting.) Our requirements are: clean, safe, and cheap. Any basic condo (studio, 1BR) with kitchenette is sufficient. Does anyone have suggestions for specific properties we should consider? We will probably rent through vrbo.com. Thanks!

The Khei Akahi has studios and one BRs for under $100 a week and the complex is quiet, about 30% residential, 30% timeshare and the rest is vacation rental. It is right on Kam 2.

Uh, you did realize that I meant to say under $100 a NIGHT, not week, right?

My husband and I spend a week in a studio condo at the Kihei Akahi back in October. It sounds like what you are looking for and the price we paid was $55 per night. We found it through ownerdirect.com. Like gone2Maui stated it is directly across the street from Kam 2 where we spent many hours. The studio was clean and in one of the back buildings so it was very quiet too.
