Base lodging between Zion, Bryce and Capital Reef

Flying into Las Vegas for a week in October to visit Zion, Bryce and possible Capitol Reef. Is it possible to stay in one location during the entire visit or will it be too much driving. If it is possible, could you recommend nice lodging somewhere btwn Zion and Bryce or any other centralized location?

Bryce and Zion ares apart and I still wouldn't stay in between.

Always try for inpark.

For Bryce if you can't get it then Ruby's is right at the entrance.

For Zion, if you can't get inpark there are many places in Springdale right outside.

Possible, but much more enjoyable to stay at each place. I would stay at Bryce Lodge and Zion Lodge. At this late stage, you probably won't be able to get either of those, but you could check for cancellations daily. You could stay in Springdale and at Ruby's in Bryce. Torrey has a few options for Capitol Reef(i like Austin's Chuckwagon). Boulder Mountain Lodge between Bryce and Cap Reef might be another option.

I stayed at Bryce Canyon Inn last August. It was not too far from Ruby's since it was full when I went last August. Get a detached cabin to yourself, very cute! Nice, clean, big!

And I stayed at Red Sands Hotel in Torey, it was a nice and the best thing they did was that they compiled a binder of all the restaurants in the area. The hotel was nice the family who ran it does a great job!

I really enjoyed the food at Rim Rock Restaurant! -- Cowboy cut please! :D

I just looked at what I wrote. Wow!!!

This is what I meant to write:

Bryce and Zion are 90 miles apart and I still wouldn't stay in between.

I agree with what the others have said.

For Zion we stay in Springdale, for Bryce we stay at Ruby's (or check it out on our way to Capitol Reef), and for Capitol Reef we stay in Torrey at the Best Western in a room with a balcony (not a terrace) and mountain view.

The drive on Highway 12 between Bryce Canyon and Torrey is one of the most beautiful in Utah.

If you want to splurge in Springdale, Desert Pearl Inn worth the cost. There you won't have a view of a parking lot as you likely will at the TripAdvisor's #2 hotel for the town.

While I agree with the rest that your visit would be much better if you stayed in Springdale for Zion and Bryce canyon City for Bryce (or in the park lodges), it is possible to stay in Mt Carmel Jct and commute. There is a hotel there that isn't too bad. I wouldn't do it, just too much time driving back and forth.

It is not possible to stay at one place and add Capitol Reef into the bargain. Definitely need something in Torrey for that.

We stayed at the Driftwood Lodge in Springdale and loved it. Very nice accommodations and both breakfast and dinner were terrific. Best food we ate in a week in the area (including Bryce Lodge).

When we have done Zions we stay at Zions Ponderosa. We have stayed there twice and really love it! This is the website: http://www.zionponderosa.com/accomodations.htm
Its about 15-20 mins into the park. And as a bonus you get to go through the tunnel-kids always love that part! As for Bryce its a good drive-I would stay somewhere closer to that park. We have stayed at some of the surrounding campgrounds and they are fine. (if you are camping)
GOod Luck!
