Are you going shopping or are your teen boys going shopping? Two very different things.

Shopping for what?

nytraveler Mar 14th, 2012 08:37 AM

Clothing? Athletic gear? Electronics? ????

NY has more shopping - at better prices - than almost anyplace else - but you need to be more specific - if clothng esp about price range and brands they like.

It also depends where you're coming from, If from outside the US, some stores that are found all over the country as well as in NY will appeal to you. If you're coming from a large city on the US or a small town here, different options will appeal.
And by bargain do you mean inexpensive stuff (like $5 t-shirts) or good deals on higher priced designer stuff?

Is this what you are looking for? http://www.frommers.com/destinations...021023037.html

By the time you consider your travel costs and sales tax, you will not save anything. NYC is an OK city but I wouldn't travel there for a bargain. There are several states that have no sales tax.

In my experience, teen boys like to pick out their own clothes and are into brands. If you come from outside the US, any US brand like Levi's, Gap, Hollister, Abercrombie, Polo will be cheaper here almost anywhere you go. Macy's and Bloomingdales offer out of town tourists a 10% discount on most things if you register at customer service first. Discount stores like Century 21, TJ Maxx and Daffy's carry men's things.

Teen boys will like Yellow Rat Bastard on Broadway for clothes. Affordable pricing, and they will like the clothes.
But we don't even know what the OP wants to buy. This is a first time poster and likely a hoax.

<<<This is a first time poster and likely a hoax.>>>

Huh? First, everyone is a first time poster once. Second, what possible "hoax" this be? Your post makes no sense.

emd3 Mar 14th, 2012 11:51 AM

Ever heard of someone posting a really vague question just to generate a lot of replies? And then he 1st time OP never comes back? Happens all the time.

Good morning everybody. I am coming from outside of the United states. this is not a Hoax. I will take my kids to see a Yankee game. Do some sightseeing etc. It will be a shopping spree for the whole family but, the post I put up was all about the kids. Also do you think it is better to shop in the city than in New Jersey.and do you have any suggestions for shopping in jersey. All teen Kids love designer clothing. I for one don't. but you have to move with the times. What about dining, help.

They like Also like Athletic gear.

Aduchamp1 Mar 15th, 2012 01:29 AM

Take them to Broadway and start at Eighth Street and walk toward Canal. There are at least 20 stores with clothing for teens.

armale Mar 15th, 2012 06:41 AM

thanks Aduchamp1

williamscb13 Mar 15th, 2012 07:01 AM

I totally agree with Aduchamp1 suggestions. Though you could start at Union Square and hit up a few stores around there before walking down Broadway to 8th and beyond to Houston and Canal.
