Bargain prices in Hawaii for .... ?
 

We all know that many things are more expensive in Hawaii than on the mainland. Are there some things that are CHEAPER in Hawaii? How about gold jewellery? Other things?

Nothing that has to be imported into Hawaii is going to be cheaper than the mainland. You would think items grown locally (like pineapples) might be less expensive, but since most of the produce is grown for export, it doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe orchids and other exotic flowers? Maybe Maui Wowee?

I've found some great buys on tropical clothing, but that's because it was on sale.

Depending on where you live in Hawaii and on the mainland, housing prices and rents may be less expensive. I know rents are certainly lower on the Big Island compared to the Bay Area of CA..
