Barbary Coast Hotel at $49 - Good Deal?
 

Is the Barbary Coast a good deal for $49 where it is center strip - is it safe, clean?

That's a great deal - take it. The Coast is located in the most central area of the strip. Commonly known as the 4 corners, the Coast is on one, Ceazars Palace is on another, Bally's and Bellagio occupy the other. Next to Bally's is Paris. There are pedestrian walkways that cross over the street, which is very convenient. Also, a monorail runs from BAllys to MGM Grand, located at the other 4 corners. Also, there is a monorail from Bellagio to Monte Carlo, which is near the MGM. The Barbary Coast is one of my favorite casinos in Vegas, and has two terrific resturants Drais and Michaels. I understand it is not easy to get a room here so if you can DO IT. Check out www.lvol.com for reader postings about any of the hotels in Vegas and the discussion board is a great way to get information. T - 29 days for me and can't wait.

I can't believe you're actually questioning whether $49 is a good deal!?!?

Sam I was not questioning if $49 was a good deal, this is the cheapest I could find on the strip. What I wanted to know is for this amount of money am I staying in a dump or not. Thankyou for the other responses I received.

1) "Is $49 a good deal" is a VERY valid question if you're not familiar with a hotel. Sam: would you have considered $49 a good deal for the Continental? Is $49 a good deal for the parking lot rooms at Circus Circus? Personally I wouldn't stay at those places for free...really. <BR>2) I don't think $49 for the Barbary Coast is that great a deal. I'd stay at Luxor, Treasure Island, LV Hilton or Harrahs for that price hands down over BC. The point is, it's all about personal taste. A description of the good/bad points is useful. "Of course it's a good deal" doesn't tell someone much. WHY do you like it at $49, for instance?

I keep reading good things about Treasure Island. $49 is the best deal I have read about. Although, if you play enough, maybe you can get comped!
