Bar Harbor--where to stay? Inn at Bay ledge?

we will spend 3 nights in bar harbor in early october.

has anyone stayed at Bar Harbor Ledge? it is a drive into bar harbor, but the grounds look lovely.

other possibility--west street hotel which looks modern, but no charm.

we will have a car. any ideas?

Haven't stayed there but it's in a great location and looks beautiful from the outside. We've walked by on the Bar Harbor path.

Or if you want a B&B, what about the Primrose Inn? That looks to be right in the heart of Bar Harbor.

We stay at the Hearthside B & B when we go to BH. The owners are wonderful and very knowledgeable about hikes in Acadia, the breakfast is delicious, and it is on a less noisy side street that is convenient for walking into town. The Winston Churchill room is lovely and worth the money.

We've stayed at the Bar Harbor Holiday Inn a few times. Right on the water, nice room, lovely pool and nice dining space. Have stayed at other places too, but this one seems to have the rooms, views, and setting that suits us. Bar Harbor Inn is spectacular, but a bit pricey. Have eaten there several times, however, for lunch on their patio (you can watch the boats)and for a drink inside. You might visit acadiamagic.com for a list of all accommodations.

We loved the Bar Harbor area. Stayed at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge, and loved it Best view ever, stay on fourth floor. Nice breakfast room, say hi to the muffin man ! Don't let the outside fool you, one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Five minutes from Acadia and five minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. A casual dining place is the Thirsty Whale Tavern and the best crabs on our whole trip to Maine(did a good part of the coast) was at Trenton Bridge, just outside of Bar Harbor. Enjoy your trip, we can't wait to go back doing Seattle this year.

We spent a weekend in Bar Harbor to sight see and relax. We chose Bay Ledge because it looked relaxing and what we thing a B&B should look like. We were NOT disappointed!
We arrived later in the afternoon and were greeted by a hostess who showed us around the property and amenities prior to going to our room, she was wonderful and knowledgeable. We stayed in the Moose cottage and loved it!
We took a walk down to the beach - I will admit I was a little nervous with the climb down but once I got to the beach I loved it!
The Inn is beautiful, the food was excellent and the views from the Inn were amazing! Jean, Jack and all of their staff were friendly and helpful. They had great suggestions on what to see, where to go and what to eat. We had a wonderful weekend!
