Bar Harbor Restaurants

Can anyone recommend restaurants in Bar Harbor - obviously the preference would be for lobster! Thanks.

miguel's in bar harbor is some of the best mexican food i've ever had! you pretty much have the pick of the litter for lobster in any place in bar harbor...it would all be very similar. oh! and go to jordan's for breakfast!!

A friend raved about a french restaurant that is known for chocolate (in Bar Harbor), but can't remember the name. Does anyone know of it?

maj- do you have any other clues? Known for chocolate doesn't ring a bell.

I'd call Miguel's "fun" mexican. Jordan's is great if you're looking for a "diner" type place.

I highly recommend the Fish House Grille near where the whale watching tours depart. We all had lobster and it was great! Plus they have cornbread muffins to die for and the biggest cheesesticks I've ever seen! A well-rounded reasonable menu and the best service I've seen anywhere in a long time!

Oh, man, what I wouldn't do for a raspberry-jalapeno-vinaigrette salad from Havana, accompanied by their awesome swordfish onblack bean and mango salsa. A fantastic restaurant, with spotless service. George's also has succulent lobster served in many ways - we had thier asian-spiced crispy lobster rolls and they were heaven! Both places probably require reservations, but they're worth it. Have a great time!

Seriously, Geddy's has the best pizza I've ever had!! I dream about it!

We had dinner one night at the Siam Orchard -- excellent. ((b))

Had to check my notes. Besides the Siam Orchid, I can recommend Poor Boy's Gourmet. Great food and reasonable price. Make a reservation -- it gets crowded. I understand they run out of crab claws. A couple we were sitting next to called ahead and had them save a portion for them.

The owner of our B&B recommended to a couple staying there the West Street Cafe. We saw them later and they said it was nothing to write home about.

On a recommendation, we went to the Parkside Restaurant on Main Street for a slice of their warm Blueberry Pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The restaurant had just closed so we had it in the bar area. It was GREAT!!! ((b))

alvarki...i have a geddys tee shirt! i was there every night of the trip. didn't get to have the pizza though, too bad...actually, the tee shirt i wanted wasn't for sale anymore, but the staff at geddy's just gave me their shirt the next night. after i offered to pay. wierd i guess, but friendly, and makes for a funny story!

elberko--talked to her today and she said it is a french (name) bed and breakfast with a restaurant that specilizes in chocolate dessert(s) on the "main" street in Bar Harbor. We have another friend going there in a few weeks and wondered if anyone had an opinion of it--they just had dessert there, not dinner. She said she thought it would be a nice place to stay. (in the future--realize you couldn't get reservations for anytime soon. Thanks.

our hotel owner recommended Poor Boy also. It does get crowded - too crowded for us to wait - get a reservation. We ate across the street and had lobster which was good - almost everyplace in town has a 1 1/4 lb lobster for $15.95 - $1.00 cheaper if you do the early bird (before 6PM)

George's, Maggie's Classic; 110 Cottage Street;, and The Asticou (in Southwest Harbor.)

Highly recommend Top of the Hill in Southwest Harbor. But it is not open before 4 or 5pm. Great food. Actually the best we had during our week stay.
