Bar Harbor hotels?

We (wife and 3 year old son) are traveling to Maine in 2 weeks. Plan is to stay in Ogunquit/Wells for 2 days (to break up the trip from NYC)and then head up to Bar Harbor. We have been to Ogunquit many times but never to Bar Harbor. Can anyone recommend some nice (average would be fine) hotels in Bar Harbor vicinity? Not looking to spend $250/night just for a place to sleep, but don't want spiders, etc. in our room. In Ogunquit we stay at the Milestone, so anything comparable would be fine.

Thanks a lot.

I don't know anything about the Milestone, but I stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. I thought it was fine, just a short drive to town, right on the water.

When we were there in September, we stayed at the Bar Harbor Motel. It is little ways out of town, but the shuttle stops there. That way you don't have to drive your car into town and find a parking space. They have a heated pool and a children's playground. Their web site is: http://www.barharbormotel.com/

Bay View is nice, but $250 a night is about average up there for upscale accomodations. The small pool would be perfect for a 3 yr old.

We stayed this June at the Cadillac Motor Inn. It is just a couple of blocks from downtown, just opposite a large park. We had an upstairs apartment - very reasonable and average quality.
