bar harbor help

Can anyone recommend hotels (reasonably priced) in or around Bar Harbor? This is for a couple of days next week.

The Bar Harbor Inn had a great package when we were there. Included a fabulous dinner, great breakfast and gift certificate for the gift shop. It might have been a seasonal thing, but it's worth checking. We were extremely pleased.

We stayed at the Quimby House Inn and found it quite nice. Our rooms on the second floor was very large and had a very high ceiling.

http://www.quimbyhouse.com/index.html

I am not sure what "reasonably priced" means, but the Bar Harbor Inn (www.barborinn.com) does have a two-night Fall special as mentioned above. You can check it out on their website. This is a nice hotel in the best location in town.

Steph----what do you mean by reasonably priced? We stayed in BH for 5 nites. The first 3 were at the Towne Motel which was very clean but nothing fancy at all. It was $99 a nite, and in a great location----a short walking distance to everything. (warning: the main office was kind of messy which worried us, but the room was fine). We then stayed for 2 nites at a B&B for $160 a nite (the Castlemaine Inn) Very nice, very clean, (lots of guest rules but I guess that's why it was so very nice, clean and in good condition). Also convenient to all, altho the Towne motel was even more convenient. You'll probably get more specific answers if you give a price range since "reasonably priced" is wide open to interpretation.

Ooooh! I wish I could go too! The Bar Harbor Inn is a bit pricey usually, but if there is a special, it is a really great location! May I recommend the Trenton Lobster Pound just outside of Acadia? One of the tastiest lunches of my entire life. Just one big freakin'lobster...

You may want to check out the Maine Innkeepers Association website, a valuable research tool. It has loads of accommodations for all Maine towns and I used it my last visit to Bar Harbor 2 years ago. Maineinns.com. Good Luck.

If you can swing it, THE BHI can't be beat for location. The rooms overlooking the bay have a very good view. Trenton Lobster Pound was awesome..ate there in July...best Lobster I've ever eaten.

RM
