Can you recommend a nice place to stay in the first week of June? Prefer an inn or cottage style place.

we stayed at Holbrook House several years ago. It is nicely done and within walking distance to town but not smack dab in the middle of it all.

Check the Maine Innkeepers Association website at maineinns.com as it lists lots of places in Bar Harbor and surrounding areas, with links to individuals websites. Very helpful!

We also stayed at Holbrook House last year. The location is nice, as noted above it's not in the thick of things but close. Very nice innkeepers, good breakfasts, afternoon tea/snack. The innkeepers helped us plan some activities and lent us a CD guided tour of Acadia Nat'l Park.

We stayed at the Quimby House and enjoyed it.

Nice innnkeepers and convenient location.
