Banff vs. Grand Tetons

I've planned and planned and planned, and now I'm second guessing...

I'm wondering if I should add another day to Banff and take one off from the Tetons. That would mean 1 night in Bozeman, 1 night on the way to Banff (Claresholm), 1 night in Banff, 2 in Jasper, another 2 in Banff, 2 in Glacier, 4 in Yellowstone, and just 1 in Teton, then another in Bozeman before leaving.

The alternative is the above, with 1 in Banff, 2 in Jasper, just 1 more in Banff, etc., and then 2 nights in Teton, with a night in Bozeman before we leave.

I'm just wondering if I'm going to regret spending less time in Banff/Jasper, and if one night is enough for Teton. How would you plan it?

Yes, you would regret it! You've got a lot of car time and not a lot of exploring time with your itinerary. I think you are spreading yourselves thin.

I've been everywhere on your list except Jasper, which we skipped because we hardly had time to touch Banff National Park in one week and we heard Jasper was similar. Glacier is also similar.

The Tetons, in my opinion, are not as spectacular as Banff or Glacier (nor Jasper, either, I'm sure).

Yellowstone is fascinating and different and well worth the time you are giving it.

In Banff Nat. Pk, consider staying at L. Louise or elsewhere in the park, not in the town (maybe one night in the town, as a pass-through). Hike to the Tea House and Glacier at L. Louise; hike at Morraine Lake; visit Emerald Lake; hike up Parker Ridge; visit the glacier on the Ice Fields Pkwy. There is so much to see and do.

You can always return for another trip. You might want to post on the Canada Bd about your thoughts on the split between Banff and Jasper. I'm not sure you should go to Jasper with that short amt of time.

you are probably doing a little too much but to each his or her own.
yellowstone and the tetons are their own trip

i did do glacier banff and jasper together but i wouldn't again,it be all canada and hit yoho too.

i say that because i just did two weeks in glacier late last summer.

not sure of your schedule, ie why are you in bozeman, and what airport are you using.

when are you going to rest! anyway, in order to be more relaxing spend the extra night in the tetons, jasper's my favorite and banff is very high on the list but more time in tetons will get your batteries recharged better!

Another alternative would be one night in Jasper rather than two. The trip between Jasper and Banff isn't all that long except that there are so many things to see along the Icefields Parkway. With more time in Banff, you could check out beautiful Kootenay National Park.

Are you going to stop at Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta? It's quite wonderful.
