Hi Starrsville, yes, I'd be interested, depending upon the day, time, etc. I am a homeschooling mom with a 13-year-old boy in tow (two older in college). I will have more time (and husband, too, hopefully) when we are back from NY and Alaska in June and child is at camp month of July. We are frequently at Lake Martin in Alabama, not too far from B'ham, in summer, so that's also a possibility. Thanks for asking!!

Bamakelly, I also lived in Cahaba Heights before moving to Vestavia Hills where we are presently. My daughter is student teaching at Shades Cahaba School. Small world. I hadnt realized there were very many folks from Alabama on this forum. I check various locations regularly mainly just to learn. But did use it tons in planning our DC/Williamsburg vacation last year. Would be interested in getting together if it all happens. However, through the end of May, I have two boys in baseball, so that is where I spend my time. Summer is much better for me. War Eagle and Go BO!

My mom and dad went to Shades Cahaba when it was a high school!!
It really makes me glad to see so many of the schools there are still in use - Shades Cahaba, Edgewood; I hate that Shades Valley was finally torn down and I read recently that Berry is soon to follow.

KE1TH: Ohhhh...okayyy i get it. And he's from Huntsville too, maybe? I get my facts confused about such things. I never watch tv. (So out of the loop...)
Mommybryant: So nice to meet you! I have friends at Shades Cahaba. Nice school. I bet your daughter likes it there a lot. I love Vestavia--such a nice area. Great schools. Maybe we can plan a GTG sometime when we are all free!
ausc, kswl...nice to meet you!

Hey,
An Atlanta GTG or one in Bham sounds fun. Hopefully more of my GA/AL/TN neighbors will see this post.
When are you guys thinking about doing this?
I'm in Atlanta--right outside the perimeter in Sandy Springs.

Hi OWJ!
I'm So glad an Atlantan has responded and is interested!
I had no particular time or location in mind - but if there is interest among us (whomever the "us" turned out to be) we could make a joint decision.
I think Ira is out east of Atlanta and had hoped he might be interested. I think there are quite a few Fodorites in the northern arc area.

Starrsville,
Why don't you post on the Europe boards. I know I'm not the only person in Atlanta posting ;-) And I don't know about others, but I tend to be online more during the week than the weekend.
