Baltimore or stay in DC

We will be visiting DC for the next couple of days and flying out of BWI late afternoon on Monday 12/29. (A family of five ages 50-20.) Should we go to Baltimore early on Monday morning and see the sights or stay in DC. If we stay in DC can go directly from Union Station to BWI. If we go into Baltimore (maybe Inner Harbor) will transportation to BWI be a problem?
If we go to Baltimore...what are the must see's, must eats.
Thanks in advance and happy holidays to all

Just stay in D.C. By the time you take transportation in to account, it isn't worth it.

You don't have too much extra time and should probably spend it sightseeing in DC (lots to see and do in DC).

If, tho you do get a hankering for Baltimore, try to see the Aquarium at the Inner harbor and also take an opportunity to walk around the Inner Harbor. There's many great restaurants in Bal-more. O'Bryckie's for crabs or Bo Brooks or you can always head over to Fells Point for some Bertha's Mussels. Can't really see a baseball or football game right now so I would imagine you'd be much better off in DC.

The Smithsonians are wonderful!! As is Library of Congress, Capitol, NaTL Gallery of Art, plus the Lincoln, Jefferson, Korean, World War II, and Viet Nam

Whoops did it again!! The Viet Name War memorial. Go and pay a visit to the National Cathedral or the Shrine of Immaculate Conception (beautiful at this holiday time) add to that the Kennedy Center, the National Zoo, and so many others that people will add to this list.

Come to Washington BEFORE Inauguration and enjoy!!!

It's up to you but as far as getting from Baltimore Inner Harbor to BWI there is direct light rail, picks up right at Camden Yards (or at Lexington Market, home of the fantastic Faidley's crab cake).

I'd stay in DC. You can go from Union Station to BWI stop on AMTRAK or Marc Train. There is a shuttle from the train station to BWI -- takes about 5 minutes.
