Baltimore Inner Harbor - What to do?
 

We will be visiting the Inner Harbor for 2 days, one night with our 14 and 11 year old sons. We have tickets to an Orioles game. what are some "must sees" in the area? Any info on the Ducks Tour?

Must sees in and near Baltimore Harbor:
Aquarium
Fort McHenry
Top of the World (clear day only)
Babe Ruth Museum
Edgar Allen Poe Grave

I would add cruising around on the Water Taxi with a stop at Fells Point.

Highly recommend the Duck Tour. We took my brother (who lives in Parkville) with us. He had never heard of it, but just loved it (as did we). It goes by the Edgar Allen Poe Grave and stops briefly, so you don't have to make a special trip.

The Aquarium is outstanding.

A terrific place to relax is the deck of Barnes & Noble (with Starbucks just inside) with terrific views of the harbor and skyline.

I'd include the Maryland Science Center too. I think this hands-on science musuem would appeal to your kids, especially the current special exhibit on "Animal Grossology" which runs until mid-October.

The Aquarium and a trip to Fells Point on the Water Taxi (great ice cream shop there!)

When I was there last (4 or 5 years ago) there was a fascinating museum called something like (and I'm really guessing here) The Museum of Unusual Art. It was the most interesting thing I did in Baltimore!

Your children might enjoy the U. of Maryland's dental museum. It is on Green St. just north of the baseball stadium and within walking distance.

There are some great restaurants around the harbor. If you do a search on this forum there are some great threads with excellent ideas.

You and your children would enjoy the duck tour. Everyone on the bus was laughing, and we did see a lot. When we drove into the water, the guide even let the kids drive the boat a little, and they were so excited.

hope this isn't too late. Get a tour of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Costs about $5.00 per person and you have to get it around noon or earlier if there is a game that night. tour includes going down to the dugout, the press box and lots of interesting info. Tickets are available at the box office. Your kids will love it.

And with 2 boys, don't forget tickets to visit the USS Torsk, a WWII Submarine and the USS Constellation, a Tall Ship and the last civil war ship still floating. Both are docked right in the Inner Harbor.

Camden Yards allows you to bring in food and beverage from outside. No alcohol, no glass and no hard coolers. Just outside the yard are a number of stands selling ball park food. Big Dog's is a favorite. Prices are lower than inside except for the giant soft pretzels.
