Baltimore & DC - Central Location for Visiting Both Cities?

Hi there -
Doing some preliminary planning for a trip to Baltimore and DC. We will be driving, so will have a car. We'd like to spend one day in DC and the other in Baltimore, capped off by a baseball game at Camden Yards.
Would it make more sense to stay in Baltimore (Inner Harbor area) and take the train to DC, or is there a good central place to stay to visit both cities (Columbia)? We'd like to avoid driving into DC, so somewhere near the train/subway would be great.
Thanks for any and all advise!

Am also considering the BWI area, if convenient.

If you're not too tight on time, you might enjoy staying in Annapolis and driving to both places. If time will be an issue (sounds like a short trip), I'd choose DC to stay in. Just be prepared to pay some $$$ for parking. Staying just across the river in Arlington might save you a few bucks.

Depends on where in trip Camden Yards falls - if it is last day, I do not think I would want to be traveling back to DC after an evening baseball game.

I would not recommend the BWI area. Yes, it is convenient, but not very attractive.

Annapolis is lovely, but with only 2 days centered on DC and Baltimore, I would not add another locale. Plus, traffic can be an issue.

I grew up in Columbia and it would be fine. It is closer to Baltimore than DC which would be good for after the game.

However, I would probably spend the day in DC, then drive to Baltimore and stay there and go to the game. I'm a little unclear about your exact timing...do you have one night or 2 nights total?

I would not stay in Arlington as that is on the south side of DC and, thus, not on the Baltimore side.

Anyway, I'd lean toward staying in Baltimore, but a little more info on timing would help in order to give the best possible recommendations.

Have fun!

Hi there - The Sox/Orioles game is on a Wednesday night, so we'll have all day Wednesday and all day Thursday before we have to head back. I'm leaning toward staying in Baltimore in the Fells Point area. Thanks guys!
