Balthazar--what to wear?
I have reservations for this restaurant. I've heard it's a really nice place. So what does that mean that DH and I should wear? I can't seem to find that info online anywhere. Thanks for any info.
|
We were there in August and saw everything from very casual to very dressy. Nice jeans were the most common.
|
Hip designer jeans, cool shoes, coat or leather jacket. Downtown hip.
|
gotravel, exactly what I meant but you articulated it better!
|
Exactly as eveyone else replied! It is just a chic restaurant, so whatever you feel looks good! Have fun! It's a great place....if you like French, also try Patsis. Have a great time.
|
It's a nice restaurant but not the dim-lit, chic and quiet ambiance type of nice restaurant; it can actually get quite loud at times; I agree with above, city chic casual..... I wear jeans and a nice blazer....

Try to be sure there is enough black in your ensemble :D
Tight, black and high heeled..would be the way one could describe most outfits, whether they are wearing jeans or whatever. Carry a good purse:) |
Thank you for all of the suggestions! I'm not sure how "cool" I'll look (I'm pregnant), but I will think on this! Ha.
|
Pregnant?! Then you will automatically look cool and you can wear anything :D
Congratulations! Have fun, forget what I said about high heels LOL |
Forget all the hip, trendy talk. Just look "casual neat" for want of a better phrase) and you'll be fine!
I hope you've made reservations...or will be making them far in advance. |
I've walked into Balthazar a few times without reservations but it was never for dinner. Besides, you have reservatios.
Wear one of those tee-shirts with the arrow that points down to your tummy and says BABY. And Scarletts right to diss those heels. It's not a really dressy place. You'll be fine. |
Oh, you guys are nice. :) I am still going to try and look nice though, and I don't mind wearing heals.
Thanks for all the advice! |
