Bally's or Harrah's?
Going to Las Vegas for two nights. Want to stay cheap, but don't want a dump. Have done some research and have pretty much narrowed it down to Bally's or Harrah's. They are within $5 of each other. Most interested in the best location. This is our first time to Las Vegas and I'm going with my sister (so no romance needed!). Thanks in advance.

Chrissy, I've never personally stayed at Bally's or Harrah's but I can tell you that Bally's definitely has the better location. Without a doubt. In fact, when I go back that is where I am staying. It's very reasonably priced compared to the big ritzy places and it's in the middle of everything. I know several people who have stayed there and they had no complaints. Good Luck!!!

These 2 hotels are virtually next door to each other, so i don't understand how one has a "better" location.

Of the 2, i think Bally's has the better reputation.

Here's a link to all all the strip hotels and ratings (just be sure to click on the REVIEW section and NOT the hotel name itself):

http://www.ratelv.com/hotels/strip.html

Chrissy:
We have stayed at both places. Bally's is classy with a really good atmosphere. There is an overpass that leads directly into the Bellagio right across the street. Also a tram that connects to other hotel/casinos on the same side. Harrah's is a little run down with a VERY noisy casion. This location is directly across the street from Mirage, Treasure Island & Caesar's. The Bally's location is very good & it's a better hotel. Harrah's is a great location but not as nice. In the future we will definitely choose Bally's over Harrah's. Hope this helps.

Based on your request for best location Bally's.Center strip connected to Paris Hotel.Close to the Aladdin .Easy access to South strip by tram to MGM.Bellagio across the street. I prefer Harrah's myself only because when I have a car the parking is so close to lobby & the elevators to rooms.

Another vote for Bally's. Location wise they are only a half a block away from each other. But Bally's is connected to Paris, across the street from Bellagio and catty corner from Caesars. Plus I think it's a step above Harrah's overall. Enjoy your trip!

Another Bally's vote, but I sure wouldn't call it "classy".

Yeas. I read that comment yesterday and decided to be 'nice'. Classy is an embellishment. Bally's is fine and all, but it's just a generic LV casino by current standards. The Four Seasons is classy. Bellagio is classy. Venetian does a pretty good job of being neo-classy. Bally's is just a midrange casino hotel.

Very well said. It's a run of the mill hotel. Nice location. Aging fast in the world of the mega hotels in LV.
