Bally's NY,NY or Flamingo
Which hotel would you book for the last wk of July? I know New York, New York is not as conviently located as the other two, but I am torn between the three. Bally's Flamingo, or New York, New York.
|
In the last week of July, I'd pick the Flamingo. For their great pool area, location, and more recently renovated rooms (than at Bally's).
|
I would choose Flamingo for it's perfect location and pool.
|
If you "go" with the Flamingo and want one of the renovated rooms you have to book a "Go Room". They look quite nice.
Have fun! |
We stayed in Bally's (next to "Paris") 5 yrs. ago and found it to be great. Because it is slightly older, the rooms were quite large and renovated beautifully. The location was great as well, and the prices were more reasonable than other hotels

Are you travelling with Children? How do you feel about children in Vegas?
Bally's is fairly child-free, with a basic rectangular pool. The Flaming O is crawling with children and the pool area is kid central. The last time I went to Vegas during family vacation season, I vowed to never stay at the Flaming O again when school was out. I love children (OK, no, I don't love ALL children, but I'm a mommy), but NOT in Vegas. HTH, Racy |
We also like the big rooms at Bally's and its location.
I don't know anything about the pool at Bally's, but when we stayed at Hilton Vacations property at Flamingo a few months ago I hated to walk by the pool because they played annoying music which seemed selected to drive everybody back to the gaming floor. |
We stayed at Bally's about 5 years ago.Rooms were large and clean including a good sized bathroom. We also had a view of the Bellagio Fountains. The pool was o.k. but the location can't be beat! We also got a great price online for a room. Good Luck!!

I was at Bally's 3 years ago and liked it also. Pool was okay, though not like the Flamingo. Although, now the Monorail runs right next to the pool area. That I wouldn't like.
|
Bally's. NYNY has a terrible layout & tons of foot traffic since they put the ESPN Zone in a few years ago. You've already heard the Flam issues.
|
It is also great that Bally's is connected to Paris, for the great dining options there.
|
I recently stayed at The Flamingo (late May) and there is an adult only pool (read: topless optional). The music is deafeningly loud. The men have to pay $10.00 to get in (how creepy is that??).
The main pool didn't have too many little kids but it did have a HUGE number of 20-somethings drinking and smoking while standing in the pool (this could have been because it was Memorial Day weekend). The pools are very nice. Every time I've stayed at Bally's the pool has been closed and we have had to use the pool at Paris which is just an octagonal shaped pond of water in the middle of a parking lot (the base of the Eiffel Tower is also right there). |
Thanks you all. That really helps.
