Bally's Las Vegas
 

We are going to Vegas at the end of August for our 2-year wedding anniversary. We are booked at Bally's. THe posts I have read about this property are not very recent. Has anyone stayed there in the last month or so that has any info/reviews? <BR><BR>THanks.

Have not stayed there in the last month, but have stayed there a number of times, most recently last fall. I find it to be a very good hotel and it's location mid-strip, is a most highly desired option for most LV visitors. I would rate the pool as good, not great; restaurants as fair. Bally's is home to the Sterling Buffet, at &gt;$50/pp, often cited as the best in Vegas. Bally's is also attached to the Paris, which does offer some very good restaurants (B/P are "sister" hotels, under the same management). Casino wise, I prefer gaming elsewhere. Nothing wrong with the casino, its just not a personal preference. <BR><BR>In sum, with a favorable rate, I'd book Bally's with no hesitation.<BR><BR>P.S. Will also be in LV end of Aug - if I see you, an anniversary drink is on me; but if we miss each other, enjoy LV and your special occasion with your extra-special person!

Speedo,<BR><BR>Thanks for the info. We are very much looking forward to Las Vegas. My husband has never been, and I was there last when I was 12, 15 years ago. We have heard good things about the MGM Grand Casino. My husband is a blackjack player (and pretty good - he left the New Orleans Casino $500 up!).<BR><BR>Thanks for the info.

Quite welcome and if curious, MGM is also a good hotel choice. I stayed there in March and enjoyed playing blackjack. I found the dealers generally pleasant and had an all around fun experience. Very nice pool area, too.

We've stayed at both Bally's and Paris on past Vegas trips. Bally's is a little less expensive but MUCH older. You can usually get weekday rates for only $10 more per night at Paris. It's so much nicer and newer for only a few dollars more. Both hotels (which are connected) are located right in the heart of the Strip. Have fun!

We stayed there in January 2002 and I don't agree that it shows it's age like some people have said. I requested a newly renovated room and was told that nearly the entire hotel had been renovated.The new rooms are very nice considering what we paid.It is a little hard to describe the decor style,nearly the whole hotel and casino are sort of a creme color. It was sort of classic but had a pinch of new age to it(with a funky blue couch in the room). I think the bathrooms are all limestone or something similar and they had nice amenities in the room.Bally's has an awesome location and I love their prices. Although we did not use the pool(winter), it is not impressive and the restaurants are so so but there are tons of options for food elsewhere.<BR>I have a couple of pics of our room (although they are a little blurry) which you can see at the link below.When i researched Bally's I could not find a picture anywhere of their new rooms.<BR><BR>http://community.webshots.com/user/lenleigh <BR>
