Bally's ??

Going to Las Vegas in Oct. One of our group wants to stay at Bally's. Another has friend that works at Imperial Palace. Can't afford the most expensive, but want to be in that area. Any suggestions on above hotels or others in the Bally price range.

Sharon - I've stayed at Bally's many times and it is my hotel of choice in Vegas. The rooms have recently been remodeled and are large. The pool is great. The casino is smaller than most of the huge places now being built, but I prefer it that way. It's centrally located on the strip - right across from Bellagio. Great location without all the noise and commotion of some of the other places. I'd pick Bally's over the Imperial Palace.

Unlike other Las Vegas questions, this is an EASY one!

Stay at Bally's. The Imperial Palace has a miserable reputation (although their antique car show is nice, get free coupons on the web or the people giving them out in front of the hotel). Bally's is much nicer and cleaner!

If you'd like another suggestion in that area and price range, i'd try The Flamingo Hilton (nice pool too) or the Barbary Coast (NO pool, i think).

My sister leaves for Vegas tomorrow, and i'm really jealous right now!!

Another nice thing about Ballys-is it is connected to Paris-and you can use the slot cards for both. I agree with other poster-DEFINITELY Ballys over Imperial Palace. Ballys would be like a nice Ramada and Imperial Palace would be like a run down Days Inn.(Of course this is my humble opinion)

Bally's is head and shoulders above IP.
You might also check prices at Monte Carlo, Mirage, Treasure Island, Flamingo and Paris. Prices vary quite a lot. Any of these would make for a nice visit (except IP...I stayed there once (not my choice) but never again).
