looking for a good bakery in gramercy/flatiron area to order birthday cakes. If any of you are carrot cake lovers, let me know where to find your favorite<BR>thanks

Have you tried Burke & Burke? There are a couple of locations in the Flatiron area, and they have really good cakes. I used to get their flourless choc torte on occasion, yummy. I'd bet they also have a good carrot cake too.

Burke & Burke closed. Try City Bakery. I believe they're located on 3rd Ave. around 17th St. Look them up on Citysearch.

Try Soutine Bakery on West 70th. I know it's not in Grammercy area, but they deliver, and their carrot cake with either cream cheese (the best) or buttercream frosting is divine. They did our wedding cake! I think it's soutinebakery.com

Dean & DeLuca on Broadway at Prince Street bake divine cakes, including carrot.
