Bakeries I shouldn't miss at SF

I love pastries and all baked goods. Any good recommendations I should not miss in SF? Staying on Lombard St.

These maybe close enough to your hotel, both I like: http://www.chestnutbakery.com/
For cupcakes: http://www.saralynnscupcakes.com/

We really liked Kara's Cupcakes (http://KarasCupcakes.com) in Ghirardelli Square. It may be in a touristy area, but our family thought the cupcakes were absolutely delicious.

No matter where you're staying, get yourself over to Tartine.

Tartine on Guerrero and 18th is not to be missed; the baker just won a James Beard Award. Lines are typically long, but the wait is sooo worth it. My favorites: the croque monsieur (only available after 9am), the amazing bread pudding (super filling and made with seasonal fruit), and most heavenly of all: the addictive Valrohna chocolate brownies. Mmmmm. I can taste them from here.
Don't miss it!

The morning buns at Tartine's are also fantabulous.

Another nice bakery is Citizen Cake. http://www.citizencake.com/ I go there to eat meals AND desserts.

At everyone's suggestion, we had breakfast at Tartine's this morning - it is wonderful. They were out of the croque monsieur with ham, so I had a croque monsieur (?) with spicy turkey. Delicious - fresh made bread with a terrific crust, turkey, cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. My DH had a fresh plain croissant with jam. He had apple juice (organic, but bottled) and I had a delicious latte. The line was long, but it didn't take too long to get to the front and we found a table pretty quickly (there were empty tables outside, but it was really cold this morning). Thanks for the tip!

And I just now took a bite of the brownies we bought and brought home - Wow!
