ejcrowe- It's no wonder that you're excited, I loved BI, in fact I enjoyed it as much as Kauai. We arrived in Hilo around 5pm and then drove to our cabin about a mile from VNP. But as I said, I wished I would have stayed 1 full day(2 nights) at VNP instead of 3 nights and 2 days. I really liked VNP, but found 1 full day to be adequate, and would have prefered to add another day to the Kohala Coast or Kauai. And again, I really recommend that walk shortly after the visitors center through the rainforest and down to the bottom. Fairly easy and pretty.

I also enjoyed the Caribbean, but Hawaii is....., well you'll see! Have fun!
