Joni, you've heard correctly about the Yosemite View Lodge. It is about 10-12 miles from the Valley, which makes it closer than a lot of the sleeping facilities within the park. And, it's a very scenic ride. We were very pleased with our accommodations at the lodge. It's the closest to the park of any accommodations outside the park itself.
